First Presbyterian Church

Hugo, Oklahoma

April 6, 2008

First Presbyterian Church, Hugo, is a small church with a large heart.

We exist to worship and glorify God, to develop and encourage disciples, to welcome all of God’s children, to be faithful stewards of all God’s gifts, and to exhibit the love and grace of God in the church and in the world.

Thought for the Week

You must deny yourself in order to go forward with God.

1 John 1

We turn faithless, gracious God, yet you are so faithful to us? Even as you walk with us along our way, and we do not know you. You stand in the midst of us, and we pass you by. We are sluggish of mind and slow of heart? Trusting anyone but ourselves comes hard to us. Yet we are also gullible people? Lead us to repent. Forgive us. Straighten our waywardness. Put a new spirit in us.

* Silent Prayer of Confession and Personal Reflection

* Assurance of Pardon:

Leader: God has dwelt among us in Jesus Christ to take away our sins.

People: God invites us to abide in Christ, and receive forgiveness.

Leader: Trust this:

Unison: In Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven.
